This afternoon

You had a great night. Your oxygen was around 50 and you stopped having the bronchial spasms. Dad and I were able to sleep some which is good. Because you were more calm they were able to lower a few settings on the vent.

The doc came in and was pleased you had settled in. He called the OR and they are looking to do your surgery this afternoon. I was hoping it would be this morning since it's been so rough and you haven't eaten since 4 yesterday morning. But this morning you're getting blood and another IV. They also cleaned your PIC line. You've already had a busy morning! Bless your heart, buddy.

I helped keep you comfortable while they cleaned your PIC line. You were so great!
Daddy and I try to be by you at all times.

Your sisters made a cake for you after school yesterday. They did a "hope you have surgery tomorrow" cake. They are loving the movie frozen right now so they did an Olaf cake. The best part is that they trached Olaf. Amanda did a great job teaching them. The girls each did parts of the cake and were so excited!!!

Best cake ever, huh?

I pray for added strength for you today. And for dad and me. This continues to be so difficult. But we will get through it. I love you, Caleb Luke.

  2. Are you stinking kidding me? That cake is AWESOME. Way to go Aunt Amanda and girlies!

Hang in the Zeb and Leah. You are doing amazing. And you will get to the others sized and be amazed at how well you did. Seeing you gowned up gave me the biggest pit in my stomach. Some parts of life are just so heartbreaking. We love you guys so much and are constantly keeping you close to our hearts and in our prayers.

Mr. Caleb... Buddy, we are so proud of you. You are surrounded by so many seen and unseen to help guide you through this hard time. Your mommy and daddy love you so much, it is evident in their faces, the tenderness in the way they change your diaper, reposition your cushions, tenderly whisper in your ear, turn music on to comfort you. They are so anxious to see you comfortable and in their arms. Stay strong sweet boy.

    I love you, Auntie Cindy

  3. The girls and I looked through some cake pictures online, and when we saw this one they all agreed we had to do it! They loved how Sven was squashed under the snow. All the girls helped. Julia mixed food coloring into fondant, Audrey did Sven's legs and hooves and nose and the buttons on Olaf, Hallie mixed fondant colors and did Olaf's arms, and Claire made Sven's antlers, Olaf's face, and the "ventilator". Claire and Hallie both worked on the trach tubing. We had a blast. Love these girls!
