Super Caleb

Because you're our hero we couldn't help but have a super hero themed birthday for you. It started off first thing like all the other birthdays in the family, with sugar cereal.
When I went to wake up your sisters they had all ended up in the same bed. Your sisters really only need one bedroom. :)

Then we had sugar cereal since that's our birthday morning tradition. I like to think that you would like peanut butter captain crunch. Our whole family loves it.

After breakfast in bed we always do presents so we went to your grave to take you yours. Flowers, a super Caleb cape and super hero signs (thanks Auntie).

Then I spent the rest of the day preparing for your party. Cake, cupcakes, balloons, capes and decorations. It was so meaningful for me to do a party for you and work on projects for you. Although I know you weren't here with us eating your first bite of cake and smiling and laughing in your high chair, I know your spirit was with us. Oh how we miss you.

I find comfort in the knowledge that I will be with you again someday. I am so grateful for my Savior and His grace. For his abiding love that strengthens me.

Caleb I can't begin to tell you how honored I am to be your mother. To be the mother of such a courageous and pure boy. There are no words to describe my love for you. You are still in every prayer at home. And you are always always in my heart.

I can't wait to load the pictures of your birthday party on the computer. And we are so excited to go to the NICU this afternoon and deliver the Loveys to the fighters there. I'll post about your party and our balloon release for you later today.

I love you, mister mister. More than the stars in the sky. More than the sands in the sea. To the moon and back. And all the way to heaven and back.

Happy Birthday my angel boy.

  1. Seriously... his grave was perfect. Loved all the signs and flowers and the cape was AMAZING!! Made me smile and cry. Couldn't love mister Caleb more if I tried. So proud of the way he fought and the things he has taught all of us. So grateful to have learned for him, love him and to be his Auntie forever. I look forward to the day I meet him with all my heart. Love you so much. SO so so much.
